Residential Dumpster Rental across Gastonia and Gaston County
Gastonia and Gaston County have grown steadily since the 2020 Census, sitting inside the Charlotte-Concord-Gastonia metro area -- one of the fastest-growing regions in the Southeast. The city's own planning department has tracked that growth concentrating in southeastern Gastonia and the suburban areas spreading outward from the historic mill-era core, while some of the older in-town neighborhoods closest to downtown have quietly emptied out and are now filling back in through renovation rather than new construction. Both sides of that pattern generate the same kind of residential dumpster call: a garage nobody has cleared out in years, a kitchen gutted to the studs, or a whole house being emptied ahead of a move.
A lot of that renovation work is happening in genuinely historic housing stock -- the York-Chester Historic District alone carries nearly 650 contributing homes built mostly between the 1850s and the 1950s, and the Downtown Gastonia Historic District adds dozens more from the same era. Because we own our trucks and run our own crew out of our 110-128 Armstrong St yard, there is no third-party dispatcher relaying your request to someone else -- you talk to us, and we show up.
How it works
A straightforward process, start to finish
The same five steps whether it is a driveway cleanout or a live jobsite swap.
- 1
Call and tell us the job
One short conversation. We ask what you are clearing, where the box needs to sit and when you need it. No forms, no waiting on an email.
- 2
We size it and quote it flat
You get one number covering delivery, the rental period, pickup, disposal and a stated tonnage allowance. If a smaller box does the job we will say so.
- 3
Delivered on boards, where you want it
The driver walks the spot with you, lays protection under the rails and sets the container square in the driveway, curb lane or job site.
- 4
Load at your own pace
Keep it level with the top rail and keep the banned items out. Need a swap mid-job or an early pickup? One call and we are on it.
- 5
We haul it and sort it right
Clean concrete, metal and yard waste get routed for recovery rather than buried wherever we can. You get your driveway or curb back the way you left it.
Built for cleanouts, remodels and historic-home renovations
Whole-home cleanouts, garage and attic purges, kitchen and bath remodels, and older-home renovations near York-Chester or the Downtown Gastonia Historic District all generate more debris than a curbside pickup can handle -- a Queen Anne or Craftsman-era home in particular tends to turn up plaster and lath, old-growth lumber and heavier building material than a newer build in the southeastern growth corridor ever sees. Our sizing conversation accounts for that kind of denser debris, not just square footage.
Tell us the scope on the phone and we will recommend a size that matches both the volume of the job and the weight allowance that comes with it, so you are not guessing.
Placed where it works for your property
The City of Gastonia separates a standard driveway permit from a broader encroachment permit for anything extending into the public right-of-way -- but whether a rented dumpster sitting entirely on your own driveway triggers either process at all is not something we will guess at on your behalf. In most cases, keeping the container fully on your property is the simplest path. If you need it in the street or curb strip instead, the city's Engineering Department is the office to call before delivery, and we are glad to help you figure out which situation applies.
We set the container on protective boards so it does not damage your driveway, and we ask that clean metal, masonry and untreated wood be kept loose rather than buried under everything else -- an easy habit to build into how you load, and one that keeps more of your debris out of the landfill altogether.

Answers
Residential Dumpster Rental -- your questions
What size dumpster is best for a home remodel?
A 15 or 20 yard covers most bathroom remodels, flooring jobs and single-room renovations. For a larger renovation or a whole-home project, a 30 yard is usually the better fit -- tell us the scope and we will land on the right size.
Do I need a permit to put a dumpster in my driveway?
Keeping the container entirely on your own driveway or property is generally the simplest path. Placing it in the street or public right-of-way is a different situation -- call us if you are not sure which applies, and check with the City of Gastonia's Engineering Department before a street placement.
We're renovating an older home near York-Chester or downtown -- does that change the size we need?
Often, yes. Century-old homes tend to produce heavier debris per room than a newer build -- plaster, lath and old-growth lumber add up faster than drywall and modern framing. Tell us the age and scope of the home and we will size around the denser load.
What can't go in a residential dumpster?
Hazardous items -- chemicals, fuels, batteries and refrigerants among them -- are the standard exclusions. Ask us about your specific job and we will guide you on the safe disposal option for anything that does not belong in the box.
Will a roll-off damage my driveway?
We set every container on protective boards under the rails before it touches your driveway, and our driver walks the exact spot with you before it comes off the truck.
