Property vs. public right-of-way
On your own property
A dumpster that sits entirely on your own driveway, yard or lot is the setup for the large majority of jobs we deliver across Gastonia and Gaston County — that kind of placement generally falls outside the public right-of-way rules that a street or curb placement would trigger. Every lot and every street is a little different, so if you are not sure where your property line falls, ask us when you book and we will tell you plainly before the truck ever leaves the yard.
On the street or right-of-way
Placement in a public street, on a sidewalk or anywhere else in the right-of-way is the situation where a permit becomes relevant. The City of Gastonia's Engineering Department handles both driveway permits and the broader encroachment permit/agreement that covers anything extending into a city right-of-way or easement, and an unincorporated Gaston County address falls instead under the county's own Unified Development Ordinance. What information do you need when I call?

Mon–Sat 7:00am – 6:00pm. Deliveries and collections run through the working day. Ring outside hours and you can leave your address on a message — we'll call back first thing.
Can I email instead of calling?

Is there a charge for a quote?
No. Quotes are free and given over the phone, not an estimate that moves later. We'll also tell you when a smaller container does the job, which is the opposite of what a pushy sales pitch does.
Do I need a permit for my address?
Depends where the container sits. In most cases, a container entirely on your own driveway, yard or lot needs no city permit. A public street or curb placement is a different matter — mention it when you call and we'll walk you through what your job needs, including who at the City of Gastonia to confirm with.
