Learn moreBelmont, North Carolina · the Charlotte-metro west side
Belmont sits in southeastern Gaston County along the Catawba River, the county's closest link to Charlotte and home to one of North Carolina's oldest Catholic colleges.

Belmont's original settlement was called Garibaldi Station, an 1870s railroad stop, before it was renamed Belmont in 1883 after New York banker August Belmont; the town was formally incorporated in 1895. Today it's home to a 2020 Census population of 15,010, the second-largest of Gaston County's 15 municipalities. Belmont is best known as the home of Belmont Abbey College, a four-year Catholic liberal-arts college founded in 1876 by Benedictine monks, whose campus includes the Abbey Basilica -- a German Gothic Revival church that was the largest Catholic church in North Carolina at the time it was built. Gaston College also runs its Kimbrell Campus in Belmont, adding a second higher-education anchor to the town.
That mix of a historic college campus, an established residential core and steady growth on the Catawba River side of the county keeps our Residential Dumpster Rental and Construction Dumpster Rental crews busy in Belmont, with Commercial Dumpster Rental picking up around the town's college-adjacent businesses.

Why Girne & Sons
Same reasons homeowners and contractors across Gastonia and Gaston County call us for every job.
You reach a real Gastonia team, not a national dispatch queue. The person who answers knows which Gaston County streets a loaded roll-off can actually turn onto and which local rules apply that day.
Delivery, the rental period, pickup and a stated tonnage allowance rolled into a single number. If something would push you over, we tell you before the truck ever leaves the yard.
Call early and most Gastonia and Gaston County orders go out the same or next day. Live jobsite swap-outs get priority over everything else on the schedule.
CEO & Founder Robert Ainsley and the Girne & Sons Dumpster Rental Gastonia team coordinate every delivery out of our 110-128 Armstrong St yard — not a national dispatch desk. We know which Gaston County roads a loaded roll-off can actually reach.
Weight fills a container long before volume does. We will talk you into the smaller can if that is the honest answer for your job.
Metals, masonry, unpainted wood, drywall, carpet and clean concrete all get routed for recovery instead of buried wherever's easiest — we will tell you what has to come out of the box before it ever reaches the scale.

Same-day is realistic on most weekday calls -- Belmont is a regular stop on our route across Gaston County. Call early and we'll confirm a firm delivery window before the truck leaves our Armstrong Street yard.
On your own driveway or private lot, generally no. Belmont is its own incorporated city with its own town government, separate from Gastonia -- a container set in a public street or right-of-way is a question for the town rather than something we can confirm on your behalf.
Yes -- the residential streets near the college sit on some of the more established, tighter lots in town, and our drivers are used to placing containers carefully in that kind of footprint. Describe your driveway or access point when you call.
